The French-born photographer lives in Crans Montana VS and has visited the orangutan sanctuaries and reintroduction centres of the PanEco Foundation in Sumatra several times. During each of these visits, the nature photographer spent weeks tracking these beautiful animals and capturing them on camera in the wild. Thanks to his talent, a lot of patience and his great passion for orangutans, he manages to shoot photographs of enormous intensity and power. On the top floor of the exhibition, the Tapanuli orangutans are specially presented.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Maxime Aliaga has written a richly illustrated book about the family of great ape orangutans, which presents the three different species Sumatran orangutan, Borneo orangutan and the recently discovered Tapanuli orangutan. The various threats faced by the endangered animals are also detailed. It is written in French and can be ordered on the photographer’s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orangutans are fascinating animals. And nature photographer Maxime Aliaga succumbed to
